Chile, Republic. An Order of Merit, Grand Cross Breast Star Republic of and in near very fine(Orden al Mrito). Instituted September 4, 1906. Type V (1929 present). In bronze gilt, a hollow base of smooth rays, with insignia superimposed on the obverse depicting a five point white enamel star with ball finials and a laurel wreath combining the arms, the central medallion features Chilean crest encircled by a blue ring inscribed ORDEN AL MERITO CHILE, the reverse features a single vertical pin with dual stays, measures 77. 6 mm (w) x 79. 7mm
