Spontini, Gaspare - Autograph Note Signed 1831 [OPERA] inscribed with a short sentimentItalian opera composer and conductor (1774 1851), highly famous in his time for some of his 22 operas. Spontini has largely been forgotten after his passing away. Handwritten note, in French, dated in 1831, to an unmentioned recipient, thanking him for his letter and mentioning an upcoming meeting with famous German tenor Eduard Mantius (1806 1874, tenor and later singing pedagogue) to listen a composition he is very interested in.
