The U.S. Small Business Administration has officially opened its Recovery Center in San Angelo, Texas. Gayle Smith Gay, small business owner in the restaurant & hospitality industry, features the Recovery Center’s efforts in responding to the July 4th floods.

Communities continue to rebuild nearly one month after the devastating impact of the July 4th floods in Kerr County and surrounding areas throughout Texas. In response to the devastation, the United States Small Business Administration has officially opened a recovery center in San Angelo, with a primary objective of supporting small business owners in the area.
The Recovery Center in San Angelo will officially open on July 18, 2025. In addition to small business owner support, the Recovery Center will also offer aid to homeowners and renters in need of home and personal property loans in excess of up to $100,000 for replacement or repair. Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 for replacement or repair of their primary residences that have been impacted in the floods.
Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)
The Small Business Administration Recovery Center in San Angelo, TX has been established in an effort to distribute the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). The EIDL program is available to small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and nonprofit organizations that have been impacted by the recent flooding disasters. It is the SBA’s intention that this program will provide a strong foundation for small businesses to rebuild, replenish and grow.
Filing Deadline
Small business owners and nonprofit entities interested in the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) from the U.S. Small Business Administration must file an application by September 4, 2025 for support with physical property damage recovery; business owners and nonprofit organizations seeking assistance with purely economic losses will have until April 6, 2026 to apply for the program.
